A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a 1:1 TA to support a male primary aged pupil with behavioural difficulties, on a long term basis with our Primary School client based in Newport.
With over 650 pupils on roll, the school is one of the largest primary schools in Newport and are committed to helping every pupil achieve their educational goals regardless of social background, gender, ability, ethnicity and faith.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be required to provide support on a 1:1 basis to a male primary aged pupil with behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour. You will be required to engage with the pupil in a positive and motivating manner and assist with literacy, numeracy and outdoor activities.
Pupils with behavioural difficulties can display severe challenging behaviour which can include physical and verbal abuse however, the rewards that come with assisting such pupils overcome their difficulties will bring great job satisfaction and sense of achievement.
Ideally, the successful candidates will hold a valid Team Teach qualification which will help them to respond to challenging issues however, should this not be the case REED Education can provide this for you in the near future. This role would suit someone with experience from a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) or a background as a Prison Officer.
