What is the purpose of the role?
The Spring programme is a major transformation of our legacy mainframe based billing system to use SAP IS-U and C4C.
The SAP Applications Analyst will have a broad SAP background with strong experience working with Basis and Solution Manager. You will be ensuring maintenance planning and adherence to procedures for operating efficiency.
You will be an experienced service professional with overall responsibility for the delivery of end to end BAU services. The role will ensure that all IT services are fit for purpose and support the delivery of defined business outcomes. This role will involve stakeholder management and requires the establishing and management of the service delivery expectations with business and stakeholders.

Thames Water are about to embark on a very exciting journey to improve our IT services. You will be part of a new team creating our own in house multi-million pound ITIL service management framework. You will be involved in continuously improving our service for our current and future long term vision.
What will this role involve?
Stakeholder management and acting as a single point of contact for business and TTA stakeholders on BAU operational service delivery
Develop key relationships within the business area and the IT department
BAU service delivery, risk management, service management, financial management, supplier management, supplier management, service level management, continuous service management and risk management
Service Reporting - ensure the provision of regular and accurate management reporting on IT Service performance
Provide a service operations interface for programmes, projects and partners delivering transformation and protect the operational environment
Basis responsibilities would include, health checks of SAP systems, database administration, system copy, system migration, client maintenance activities, performance tuning, applying
Support Packages & kernel updates), project activities (e.g. installations, upgrades and data migrations) and creation of documentation and work instructions
The role will be based in our central Reading office but regular travel will be required to our Swindon office to work with the project team
Travel could be initially as much as 2-3 days a week.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with five years of experience managing SAP technologies as a basis administrator in a medium or large size firm.
Basis skills to include health checks of SAP systems. Database administration, system copy, system migration, client maintenance activities, performance tuning, applying Support Packages & kernel updates) and Project activities (e.g. installations, upgrades and data migrations) and creating documentation and work instructions.
Good database skills relevant for Basis related tasks and strong experience in Solman 7.2, and specialization in application life cycle.
Experience of installation, configuration and migration of SAP and experience of system preparation basic configuration managed system configuration.
You must have the ability to collaborate with other team members working remotely from various locations and strong technical foundation and problem solving skills.

Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based at our offices in Swindon Walnut Court. We are offering a salary of between £26,350 - £35,650 dependant on skills and experience.
