What is the purpose of the role?
We are looking to recruit an experienced Business Improvement Specialist to take ownership of large and complex deliverables, project workstreams and smaller change and improvement projects from planning through to completion. You will be responsible for helping to accelerate and drive significant process improvements across Thames Water, focussing on delivering a consistently exceptional customer experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to create, lead and develop the company's critical process evolution and improvement path. What will this role involve?
This role will involve:
Fully understand the business requirements and translate these clearly into the project definition, gaining clear buy-in from the project sponsor(s).
Where no clear requirements or mandate exist, demonstrate the ability to complete with support a thorough investigation using data, analysis and SME engagement to build a compelling business case that clearly articulates the issues identified and the assessed options to resolve, putting forward a proposal or preferred option(s).
Plan initiatives and ensure resources, cost, risks, issues, assumptions & dependencies are fully identified, including an assessment of all potential benefit and dis-benefits.
Work closely with business leads to deliver projects to agreed cost, time, scope and quality parameters.
Ensuring ability to measure success is in place.
Build and maintain a network of cross functional relationships in order to facilitate SME and stakeholder management and increase the chances of project success.
Provide updates, reports and stage gate reviews inputs with support as defined in the governance model and agreed within individual projects.
Ensure we become a learning and data led organisation by carrying our post implementation reviews and contributing to the continuous improvement of project management methodology.
Participate in the Change & Transformation Management community in TW, sharing thinking & good practice in order to support the continued development of the TW Change capability.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual to deal with constantly changing demands within a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role, utilising change management methodology, problem solving and handling multiple projects at one time. To be successful in this role, you will have experience in implementing change and continuous improvement procedures. You will be dedicated, results driven professional with a logical mind-set, who possesses strong analytical skills and the ability to manipulate data. You will possess excellent collaborative, consultative, influencing and negotiation skills alongside exceptional organisational skills and the ability to create and maintain working relationships at all levels. Experience of process mapping, or working within a manufacturing environment will be beneficial but not essential.
Thames Water information and salary details
This exciting position is based at Kemble Court, Reading. Ad-hoc travel will be required. We are offering a salary of between £35,000.00 - £45,000.00 depending on skills and experience.
