What is the purpose of the role?
These are key leadership roles that sit within the Customer Experience Business Intelligence within Thames Water. You will be required to work with a variety of specialised business units to generate value adding management information that aligns to the strategic direction of the team. Your input will be pivotal to turning information into insight though the creation of reporting solutions which help drive continuous improvement across the teams. This will involve working with business users, interrogating business requirements to define and deliver effective solutions that will help shape Thames Water's business-as-usual.

What will this role involve?
Maintenance, development and enhancement of a range of related reporting artifacts.
This may include customer satisfaction, trends in employee performance and production of KPI balanced scorecards.
Evaluate data and make insightful recommendations that can be adopted by the business in order to minimise company risks.
Analyse the high level business requirements using appropriate requirements definition techniques and accurately visualise data based upon the end user needs.
Lead the direction in the designing and delivery of technical solutions that deliver effective insight using MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, Business Objects or Power BI.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role either a data, reporting & business intelligence analyst or equivalent, preferably with utility industry experience. Ideally, you will have worked as an analyst and helped deliver reporting solutions as well as having a good understanding of report design and how to deliver in a manner that drives action. To be successful in this role, you will be comfortable with gathering requirements from different business user groups. Ideally, you will have exceptional verbal and written skills being able to communicate technical specifications to non-technical business users in a clear and effective style. From past experience you will be able to build and document data to information processes through; investigating divergent data sets, identifying gaps, proposing solutions and effective delivery. You will need to be a fast learner for this role, since you will be taught lots of different things in a short space of time. So too must you be a focused listener, good at taking notes and good at asking the right questions. To be considered for this role you will have had experience in creating reporting solutions using Excel and Access. It would be highly desirable to have experience with SQL, Business Objects and have good working knowledge of relational databases as well as an understanding of data management including ETL. Experience of having worked in an environment dealing with financial information or a customer experience role will be an advantage.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based at our offices in Kembrey Park, Swindon. We are offering a salary of up to £43,000 for the right candidates.
