What is the purpose of the role?

We are seeking a motivated technical process and compliance coordinator to support the senior process lead on a range of process improvements across a wide geographical Thames Valley region. You will provide knowledge and experience of sewage treatment processes to operations, capital delivery and other business areas. You will focus on driving improvements, through predicting, identifying, investigating and resolving issues on site. Working with operational teams, you will ensure that compliance is met by employees and contractors alike, in terms of statutory regulations and codes of practice, relating to the wastewater treatment process.

What will this role involve?

Key responsibilities of this role will be to:

Support on local action plans on sites working closely with operations to prioritise risk and secure correct funding.

Monitor and support changes to the process on sewage treatment works, to ensure the process is fully compliant during optimisation throughout the year.

Undertake routine and ad-hoc water sampling and monitoring to ensure 100% regulatory compliance.

Aid the Operational teams in identifying process risks.

Support maintenance projects to ensure compliance is not compromised while their work is carried out.

Provide compliance information for operational meetings and responsible for escalating issues the Compliance Manager.

Report hazards and near misses as appropriate.

Keep site operating manuals up to date to help build in resilience with staff changes.

Engage with operations and contractors, building rapport and improving their own technical understanding of processes and compliance.

What are we looking for?

Do you have experience in a compliance and process improvement role? If so, we are seeking a process driven individual that has experience of reviewing and implementing process improvements within a highly regulated environment. If you have previous experience in the sewage or wastewater industry, this would be advantageous. If you have experience working with contractors, this would be beneficial however not essential. You will have demonstrable experience in process reviews and ensuring compliance, making recommendations to wider teams and supporting with the roll out. You will have a methodical approach to work and previous experience working with individuals in a scientific field would be desirable. Travel to multiple sites across your assigned region will be required so a full, UK driving licence is essential.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role is offering a salary of circa £28,000 depending on skills and experience and can be based from Oxford, Reading or Marlow. Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence is crucial.
