The areas of expertise we're looking for are focused on the end to end service management of our IT services.This is a chance for you to work in our innovative creative office space where you will be able to visually demonstrate your skills, ideas and insights openly. This is a challenging role which requires you to help deliver the best next generation services to all our customers. Thames Water are about to embark on a very exciting journey to improve our IT services. You will be part of a new team creating our own in house multi-million pound ITIL service management framework. You will be involved in continuously improving our service for our current and future long term vision.
What will this role involve?
The Data Analyst Lead's main responsibilities adhere to;
Perform detailed analysis of systems to define data quality rules and perform detailed analysis of data to uncover data quality issues.
Define, track and manage delivery of development tasks to build the data quality rules in chosen platform and schedule the data profiling.
Maintain and update data quality trackers and dashboards and analyse data profiling results, capture data exceptions so they can be reported to the business teams for resolution.
Liaise with business teams to identify root cause of data quality issues and agree remedial actions.
Perform ad hoc data analysis tasks as requested to support emerging data requirements and wider project initiatives.
Provide QA and oversight on behalf of by reviewing all data requirements, data design and technical data documentation provided by various project teams to ensure source data is handled correctly.
Deliverables include legacy data analysis and profiling reports, root cause analysis, remediation and preventive mechanism proposals, testing and validation of data quality rule developments, ownership of Business & third-party data cleanse activities and maintenance of data quality tracker and dashboard.
What are we looking for?
You must be proficient in data query and analysis tools (advanced SQL, Excel, Access) and have an education to degree level in a computing or related discipline. All applicants must have proven track record in a data analysis role of at least two data driven projects and the ability to conduct root cause analysis and summarise information to an appropriate level for a particular audience. Attention to detail, ability to self-manage and work to tight timescales and excellent communication skills and comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels are all key to this role. Exposure to Agile/SCRUM software development framework (desirable).
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based in Swindon and is offering a salary between £38,250 and £51,750.
