What is the purpose of the role?
The data insight analyst is responsible for providing actionable insight through up-to-date, accurate and relevant data analysis. Thames Water operates in an ever changing regulatory environment which is challenged by stretching targets, increasing penalties and most importantly the need for us to become more customer focused as a business. In order to meet these targets and regulations we need to make the best use our capabilities and insights.

The value of data analytics for providing insight is becoming increasingly important to decision making both in the way we operate as a business and the way we provide a service for our customers. This role will allow the successful person to build on their data analytical skills in order to help identify areas of opportunities for the business. The insight through your analysis and coordination, working with operational teams as well as other teams providing reporting metrics and analysis, will help inform the business in making the right decisions leading to efficient operations.
What will this role involve?
You will be responsible for working with stakeholders to understand their requirements, expectations and the outputs that need to be achieved, in order to provide insight that they can take action upon.
It is expected that you will analyse and understand complex data models and ensure data consistency, interpret data and analyse results using techniques to provide on going and ad-hoc reports that are continual improved upon.
What are we looking for?
The ideal person for this role must have excellent problem solving abilities and be able to work well under pressure. They must be able to communicate and cooperate with different departments to produce valued outputs. It is important for the candidate to be proactive and self-motivated with high attention to detail, as well as being able to interpret and analyse data. We don't have all the answers today, so if you want to make a difference and be at the front of identifying opportunities and mitigating risks, in order to deliver best value services, then this role is for you. For this role you must have a full UK driving licence. System skills - Visualisation software skills (Power BI), Advanced Excel knowledge, SQL Database knowledge, understanding of R.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based out of Clearwater Court in central Reading and is offering a salary between £30,000.00 - £34,000.00 depending on skills and experience.
