What is the purpose of the role?
Here at Thames Water we are committed to protecting the privacy of our customers, and to managing their personal data to the highest standards; this comes in various forms from providing advice to our colleagues, to monitoring compliance. To achieve this, we are seeking a Data Protection Executive to form part of our growing Data Protection team. This brand new role has been created in order to support the DP team and Governance Manager handling and analysing requests, coordinating agendas, collating metrics, and general administration.

What will this role involve?
DP inbox triage, allocation and fulfilment process including the production of metrics.
Specific DP advice for internal compliance - eg, Legitimate Interest assessments, DaPRAs etc.
Assimilating and analysing the requests into a set of regularly updated FAQs.
Collating metrics, checking data and compiling KPI reports.
Support the team with meeting bookings, training coordination, agendas and action logs.
Support the team with ad hoc projects.
Liaison with Legal for specialist advice.
Answering of queries or complaints from 3rd parties.
Collation, checking and production of metrics for DP monthly report.
Internal queries and advice, development of FAQs, clinic sessions, further training needs.
DP team support - organising meetings, circulating minutes etc.
Supporting the Head of DP Governance and DP Governance manager on training and comms coordination and other ad hoc projects where required.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with experience of team coordination and administration in an office environment. Experience of collating information from several sources and evidence of good attention to detail in checking information and compiling reports. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and confident communication abilities. IT skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint is a must. Data protection knowledge isn't essential but would be advantageous.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based in our Reading head office with a salary of up to £28,000, depending on skills and experience.
