What is the purpose of the role?
We are currently seeking a skilled electrical technician to ensure that all electrical equipment associated with our water treatment works are running safely and efficiently using both proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will need to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, electrical plant equipment. Working within the maintenance team you will follow robust maintenance plan as well as getting involved in minor installation projects, electrical fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure our plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What will this role involve?
This multi skilled technician role will be working in a multi discipline team, with the following responsibilities:
Carrying out installation works on a variety of electrical equipment.
Inspecting and carrying out maintenance work on equipment as required within manufactures guidelines.
Examples of equipment you will be working on will be: 3 phase motors, starters and controls, Electronic control systems such as VSD's, Automatic valves and penstocks, Flow, level and pressure measurement, Programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, Chemical handling and dosing equipment.
Carrying out routine machinery checks in addition to un-scheduled emergency maintenance work.
Delivering up-to-date technical advice and provide training and support for technical trainees.
Carry out the repair and maintenance of electrical motor drive systems and associated control systems including Inverter drives.
Participate in a stand-by rota following the relevant training.
What are we looking for?
Are you a qualified Electrician? Do you have experience working on industrial plant equipment? We are looking for an apprenticeship-served, 17th Edition Electrician with relevant recent experience. Must be able to work confidently on 3 phase equipment. Due to the nature of this role domestic experience is not suitable. You must have the ability to work with minimum supervision and have knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry. A full, UK driving licence is essential.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based out of Bourne End water treatment works, near Marlow. We are offering a salary of up to £35,650 (with standby/overtime available) depending on experience and qualifications.
