What is the purpose of the role?
You will be responsible for providing expert technical support to operational teams, maintaining regulatory compliance and meeting internal business targets. As part of this team you will be expected to undertake activities such as water quality monitoring from the source to service reservoir, investigating water quality failures or events at company assets and providing recommendations to both internal and external departments on corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. You will also be responsible for providing technical support to production, network and capital delivery schemes in order to ensure that water quality requirements are met and undertaking out of hours technical support.

What will this role involve?
Supply and analyse information to satisfy complex needs of the team and/or external clients, provide explanation or commentary.
Design and deliver an element of a technical solution and assist the team to implement it successfully.
Identify developments in the relevant technical specialism that may improve the business, and suggest initiatives to the team and/or line manager.
Coach and support others in own area of expertise. You will be required to take part in our out of hours rota.
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate must have an HNC or Degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific or Engineering discipline. You must also have significant experience in water treatment processes, supply or regulation. Ideally you will also have experience of working with Sample Manager, EQUIS and SAP systems and previous line management experience would be an advantage although this is not essential. You will be dynamic in your approach and must be comfortable in a 'hands on' operational role. Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are also key to this role as you will be liaising with internal stakeholders within Thames Water on a day to day basis. Travel to other sites is required as a major part of this role thus a driving license is essential. You will be self- motivated and previous experience in the water industry is crucial. The ability to work in a logical and analytical manner and be able to maintain a positive and professional approach when dealing with customers is also essential. Due to the nature of this role a clean UK driver's licence is essential.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is offering a salary of between £28,985 and £39,215 depending on skills and experience. It is based at Coppermills water treatment works, but will require travel across sites in the North East Thames region.
