REED Education are currently working in partnership with a number of special schools throughout Cardiff, Gwent and the Vale of Glamorgan area's to recruit Behavioural Support Teaching Assistants who will provide educational support to pupils of Primary and Secondary school age with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD).
Our partner schools have a friendly and positive ethos and encourage good behaviour along with a positive attitude to learning with the aim to help pupils overcome their difficulties and for many, this results in them being able to return to mainstream education.
Pupils with SEBD can display severe challenging behaviour which can include physical and verbal abuse however, the rewards that come with assisting the pupils overcome their difficulties will bring great job satisfaction and sense of achievement.
Ideally, the successful candidates will hold a valid Team Teach qualification which will help them to respond to challenging issues however, should this not be the case REED Education can provide this for you in the near future.
This role would suit someone with experience from a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) or a background as a Prison Officer.
