What is the purpose of the role?
Working in the energy and carbon performance and change team on a 1-year fixed term, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of changes needed to meet the company's challenging targets for reducing the energy consumption of our water and wastewater treatment and network assets. Our ability to improve the way we manage our energy consumption is critically dependent on high quality data and in this role you will undertake multiple projects to make accurate and timely data available to our team of analysts and internal consultants.

What will this role involve?
Carrying out surveys of operational sites to confirm availability of relevant electrical and process data.
Identifying and documenting the gap(s) in the collection and transfer of data to the corporate data repository (PI).
Designing solutions to make data available in the corporate historian, producing technical specifications with reference to appropriate standards.
Managing the delivery of solutions, including obtaining approvals for software release and system access and engaging internal and external resources as necessary.
Create or configure changes to meters, PLCs, local and regional SCADA systems, or work with responsible team to ensure changes are completed to TW standards/specifications.
End-to-end testing and documentation.
Troubleshooting and rectifying issues with existing system installation/configurations, liaising with appropriate service providers and site staff to resolve.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will hold an ONC/HNC in an electrical/electronic engineering discipline and have experience of working in a low voltage industrial environment with motor control centres and ICA assemblies. Desirable experience includes programming PLCs (particularly Allen Bradley), configuring SCADA systems including Iconics, FactoryTalk View, and Wonderware, and of configuring telemetry outstations, particularly ClearSCADA. You will be confident, organised, able to take ownership of delivering solutions and solve problems. You'll be comfortable working with site managers, technicians and systems engineers and have the ability to influence others to ensure projects are delivered to time and quality. This role offers an opportunity for an experienced ICA engineer to move into a System Engineer environment as a 1 year fixed contract you will be working closely with the existing site teams to understand and influence the activities being completed in some areas and completing activities yourself in others. You'll need a full driving licence and the willingness to travel throughout the London and Thames Valley region up to three times per week.
Thames Water information and salary details
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract. Regular travel to sites in London and Thames Valley; base location can be flexible. We are offering a salary of up to £42k depending on experience and qualifications.
