What is the purpose of the role?
Based in North West Thames Valley the Technical Coordinator is responsible the effective deployment of the sampling field force to ensure the sampling programme is met. In addition the Technical Coordinator will ensure all enquires of a customer or technical natures are responded to within the correct time frames. The Technical Coordinator will respond to requests from CSWQ Water Quality and ensure that all Water Quality Technicians are dealing with customer complaints in a timely fashion. The Technical Coordinator will have an excellent understanding and comprehension of the regulations that govern the statutory clean programme. The Technical Coordinator will have an excellent understanding of the work carried out in the field; the processes sampled and will be able to advise field operatives.

What will this role involve?
Ensuring that both statutory and operational sampling activities are scheduled out to the field team.
Facilitating work progress and completion according to required time frames, ensuring service is delivered in a consistent and compliant manner that is cost effective, maximises productivity and is in accordance with Thames and external contractural requirements.
Providing Technical Support to the field teams to ensure sampling programme is delivered and that all Sampling programme meets with all regulatory requirements responses are within the regulatory time frames.
Championing the customer's experience in line with the TEC model - ensuring highest levels of customer service delivery.
Dealing with all escalations, complaints and commendations in a timeley manner.
Ensuring proactive and accurate responses to any sampling related technical or customer issues and responses are within the regulatory time frames.
Understanding the regulations for (Clean) statutory monitoring. Understanding the sampling requirements across the business.
What are we looking for?
We are keen to speak with applicants with the relevant experience within Maintenance, Water or Waste or comparable experience including technical job design and/or prerequisite management at another Water Utility company. Ideal candidates will have an excellent understanding of the clean regulations and statutory programmes and understanding of Clean Water Sampling along with an understanding of the Water Quality Management System. IT literate and able to learn new software quickly. In addition to the above you will need strong communication skills, have good decision making abilities, be competent with IT systems (will use SAP extensively) and possess knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues relevant to the industry. You will also have the ability to work under pressure to meet demanding targets and have good technical understanding of the relevant regulations as well as having customer service experience and a scientific background ability to understand the technical nature of the work undertaken. Due to the nature of this role you will be required to have a valid full driving licence.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based at our Farmoor Water Treatment Works. The salary will be approx. £28,900 per annum.
