What is the purpose of the role?
Building, utilising and maintenance of our wastewater network models for use in network planning and in projects to both optimise the use of existing network assets and to design and commission new capital schemes. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and to provide guidance on technical matters.

In this role, you will be working alongside a team of modellers and reporting directly into the modelling lead, you will be part of a very busy team of modellers delivering wastewater network modelling projects and studies. What will this role involve?
This role will involve:
Manage a major modelling activity area to meet current and future demands, which will involve working closely with colleagues in Wholesale Wastewater.
Model building and calibration using appropriate data sources. Models must meet the Thames Water design standard.
Evaluate wastewater network performance to identify new/validate existing risks and needs. Where applicable develop, test and evaluate solutions.
Manage and maintain Live models providing real-time forecast data to the business and contractors.
Develop / improve model quality assurance system in line with or steering the industry.
Provide technical support to the wider business as required.
What are we looking for?
Ideally we are looking for someone with a substantial amount of experience in wastewater network modelling. They should be experienced in the use of the ICM and/or ICMLive modelling packages. We are keen to speak with candidates with a degree and preferably professional qualification in engineering, scientific or environmental based subject (or similar). You will be competent with Microsoft Office and GIS. Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for investigation and problem solving are also required for this key role. You will possess the ability to work on projects in isolation on occasion as well as working well within the team. Due to the nature of this role you will be required to have a valid full driving licence.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role will be based at Reading Sewage Treatment Works and is offering a salary from £35,700 depending on experience.
