Here at Serco we're looking for an Administrator to join us at HMP Ashfield, an adult male sex offender prison based in the village of Pucklechurch in Gloucestershire. Joining our onsite team at this category C prison, you'll play a key role in providing secure, effective, and efficient clerical/administrative support within contract departments.

 

The role will primarily involve supporting the senior site Administrator with all HR admin tasks including preparing the payroll. Some of the other duties include;

 

  • Minute taking at events and meetings,
  • Process and disseminate minutes from meetings once approved by the chair within a timely manner.
  • Supporting the switchboard/mailroom with handling of incoming telephone calls and handling of incoming/outgoing mail.
  • To liaise with Business Improvement Manager/Assistant Director to ensure all daily department requirements are covered.
  • Collect, log, file and distribute all departmental reports and files.
  • To contribute to the delivery and achievement of all performance measures, contract outcomes and locally agreed targets including KPIs.
  • Provide clerical support to team members within the department.
  • To perform any other reasonable duties as instructed by the management team.

What you'll need to do the role

 

This is an opportunity for an individual who has demonstratable experience working within an administrative environment and previous experience of minute taking. The successful candidate must be highly organised, have effective time management skills and excellent computer and typing skills inclusive of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. It is vital that they have good written and oral communication skills. It is important that they understand Data Protection/GPDR.
