Job title: Education Administrator
Location: HMP Dovegate, Uttoxeter
Salary: £21,224 per annum
Working hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
HMP Dovegate is a category B male establishment prison based on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter. The operational capacity is for 1100 prisoners and it takes a whole team of people to keep the facility safe, secure and in proper working order.
The key purpose of this role is to help with general Administrative tasks within the exams office. This include; inputting information into various computer systems such as Curious and CMS, organising and collecting stationery orders, allocating learners to classes and updating their timetables (scheduling), organising gate lists each day and occasionally invigilating exams.
As an Education Administrator you will assign learners to appropriate courses, monitor absences in education and invigilate examinations across the provision. You will be required to work as part of the education team in an efficient and professional manner demonstrating a positive attitude to change and show flexibility in the workplace. You will ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to staff and prisoners, and that all information, both written and oral, is treated confidentially.
What you need to do the job
You should have a minimum of Grade C, Level 2 equivalent or above in Maths and English. ECDL/Computer Qualifications at Level 2 is desirable.
You should have proven experience of working in an environment that demands strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. You need the ability to work as a team member, forming excellent relationships.
