Job Title: Administrator

Salary:  £21,224 per annum, plus Serco benefits

Location: HMP Dovegate, Uttoxeter 

Working hours: Permanent, Full-Time, 40 hours per week


HMP Dovegate is a category B male establishment prison based on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter. The operational capacity is for 1100 prisoners and it takes a whole team of people to keep the facility safe, secure and in proper working order.


Key purpose of this role is to provide administrative support for all areas of key worker. You will act as the hub for communication between prisoner and keyworker and keyworker and family/friend. You will ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to staff and prisoners, and that all information, both written and verbal, is treated confidentially. You will also demonstrate a positive attitude to change and show flexibility in the workplace.


You will be responsible for identifying keyworkers for all prisoners and manage the allocation process in accordance with the set criteria and communicate keyworker allocation daily to relevant parties. You will be required to engage in regular communication with keyworkers and be a single point of contact for a team of keyworkers. You will ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to staff and prisoners, and that all information, both written and verbal, is treated confidentially.


Some other key accountabilities will include:

-To administer all systems within the department

-Produce reports as requested

-To maintain accurate records of all actions taken

-To provide the appropriate information for all your areas of responsibility for the month end reports

-Daily filing and archiving of records when required




 What you need to do the job

 You are required to have recognised qualification in Maths and English.


You should have excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages and good working knowledge of databases. You will demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
