Location: RAF Odiham

Working Week: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Salary: £18,299.00

Apprenticeship Qualification: L3 Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 42 months, 3 years at college and end point assessment.

 

 

Serco have a new apprentice role working in support of the Chinook Engine repair Facility (ERF) at RAF Odiham, Hook RG29 1QT. The apprentice will be a member of a team of 9 engineers working in the Engine Repair Facility (ERF) within the RAF Odiham station estate.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to normally work within a day shift system of 37.5 hours/week plus overtime as and when required.  Normal working hours - 0800 till 1630 daily.  You will gain the skills and requires a completely flexible approach to the ERF engineering tasks undertaken with a full understanding of the Company's exacting quality requirements.

 

 

 

Main Accountabilities:

 

  • Will be working on the following aero engines - servicing, repairing and testing:
  • T55 engines as fitted to the RAF Chinook Helicopters
  • Titan Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) fitted to the Chinook.
  • Will work under Mil Pt 145 Regulations for the maintenance and airworthiness documents for all engine and APU work tasks.
  • Will gain an understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement procedures.
  • Will gain an understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and Quality Practices

 

 

 

 

What you'll need to do the role:

  • It is essential the ideal candidate will have prior learning in an engineering or science-based qualification grade 4 and above.
  • GCSE or equivalent English C or above and Maths Grade B or above
