Salary of £30,653 per annum on a successful completion of a 3 months' probation period. (Additional allowance maybe applied subject to role requirement)
Serco Defence are looking for an experienced Aircraft technician to join the team at RAF Syerston. You will carry out maintenance on Viking and other contract-related aircraft at RAF Syerston and other locations throughout the UK.
Here at Serco we support the development of the RAF's next generation of aircrew, engineers and air traffic controllers through our unique contract with the Air Cadet organisation. We maintain and manage their fleet of gliders, and as our Aircraft Technician Mechanical, you'll play a key role in keeping these aircraft operational and in the air.
You will carry out the responsibilities and duties of Support Staff with responsibilities in accordance with Military Aviation Authority Regulatory Publication Regulatory Article 4801 and Part 145. You will carry out associated roles and duties as directed by the business needs. The role will be based at RAF Syerston and will also be required to satisfy the regular UK-wide mobile requirements of the role.
You'll be a key member of our dedicated aviation team. We're a close-knit team of professionals who actively support each other - and as well as ongoing career progression and development we can offer flexible working arrangements and an early finish on a Friday.

What you'll need to do the role
Because the aircraft are stationed around the UK you'll not only need to travel away, which may involve several overnight stays, but you must also hold a full driving licence. You'll also need to be medically fit to work in an aircraft engineering environment, with manual handling and aircraft rigging and de-rigging (physically demanding) as part of the job.
