Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9:00AM to 5:00PM

Location: Homebased with travel to sites in Wales or the Midlands 2-3 days a week

Salary: Up to £38,000 (Depending on Experience)


As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be supporting the Central West South Team, managing the Billable Works Projects. You will be undertaking works that require scoping, tendering and procuring as well as performing risk analysis' and management, through construction to the Final Account.


You will also be providing commercial support for the Operations Team as needed on lower value projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist the SQS with Change Management in accordance with the FDIS Contract ensuring timescales are met by all relevant stakeholders
  • Fulfil the Tender Manager role and overseeing the tender process on low to medium value Billable Works: production of tender long lists; collation of tender documents; addressing mid tender queries; conducting formal openings with the client; carrying out post tender interviews; formally scoring the submissions; producing a tender report and making a formal recommendation.
  • Assist with commercial control to ensure planned milestone payments are achieved, final accounts are closed to meet the business targets
  • Monitor and review Supply Chain performance
  • Assist with supplier payments in line with contractual and company policy
  • Attend meetings, provide reports and liaise with all stakeholders on commercial matters
  • Assist SQS in monitoring and presenting monthly cost reports as required
  • Ensure Billable Works are priced and managed in line with contract requirements delivering value for money at all times
  • Attend adjudications for Billable Works as per delegated authority
  • Ensure contract processes and procedures are adhered to at all times, advising and supporting as required
  • Support Risk Meetings; review risk registers; and assist the team with risk management processes


What you'll need to do the role:

Commercial experience in construction, property maintenance or related field.
Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and a collaborative working environment​​​​​.
A HND/Foundation Degree level in Quantity Surveying or significant equivalent experience to include; any job related experience providing the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to be able to perform the function of the position of QS.
Experience in the commercial element of facilities management and/or commercial construction/refurbishments, either of large projects (£500k to £3m) or many smaller projects (£20k to £500k) running concurrently.
Health & Safety Awareness Training.

You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be eligible for this role.

You must have a full UK Driving License to be eligible for this role.
