Business Support Officer
Location: Peterborough
Salary from £19,500 to £22,072.50 per annum
Serco works in a strategic partnership with Peterborough City Council in the heart of the city, to transform the quality of local services for our citizens. We currently have an opportunity to join our Convening team supporting the Child Safeguarding department of PCC.
Reporting into the Team Manager you will be responsible for helping to organise Child Protection Conferences and Child in Care reviews as well as completing various key processes associated with Child Safeguarding and for providing business support to the Child Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the service.
Child Protection work, by its nature, is very demanding, so previous experience working in the Police, Public Health, Child Safeguarding arena or an interest in this area would be beneficial. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Main Skills & Responsibilities
Excellent organisational and processing skills in a sensitive Child Safeguarding environment.
Communicate with and develop good working relationships with a wide and diverse range of people, such as Senior Management, customers, key contacts and members of the public.
Quick and accurate typing skills are essential as is willingness to learn if not previously experienced.
Ability to work to tight timescales and contributing towards Serco and our customer achieving statutory deadlines in regard to Child Safeguarding.
Adhoc administrative tasks including but not limited to photocopying, report collation, filing, diary management.
Assist with the maintenance of filing systems, both electronic and manual to enable files to be accurately located.
Experience using Microsoft 365 packages
