£65,000 - £73,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

As a result of this, we are now seeking an experienced IT Category Manager to provide specialist IT category and market expertise to expertise to identify benefits, mitigate risks and drive best value from Serco's spend and supply base globally.

 

You will support with the global category management strategy and business outcomes for our stakeholders in Serco's technology functions, to maximise benefits and allow the effective deployment of IT solutions.

 


As part of this you'll:

 

  • Contribute to the IT strategy through the delivery of strategic transformation projects and delivery of customer requirements
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a holistic and rounded knowledge of a supplier's performance and risk across Serco
  • Help with the creation of the IT category strategy
  • Lead on sourcing exercises to leverage Serco scale across the global operations
  • Lead and manage continuous improvement projects with existing suppliers
  • Review and negotiate contracts with support from the legal department
  • Monitor supplier risk and performance through reporting tools and business feedback 
  • Collaborate with Procurement Business Partners to ensure supplier management activities, category strategies and stakeholder priorities are aligned and to drive compliance to the use of preferred suppliers
  • Lead with the drafting of contracts and resolution of contract terms based on standard templates and with reference to the Legal Empowerment toolkit, consulting Group/BU Legal as required 
  • Manage contract approval and signature processes in line with delegated authorities and standard operating procedures 
  • Help with delivery of the procurement objectives covering savings, stakeholder relationships, PSL compliance and contractual compliance
     


What you'll need to do the role:
 

  • CIPS qualified or working towards CIPS qualification
  • A strong track record of IT category management, utilising innovation to deliver cost savings to the organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining strong senior stakeholder relationships up to MD and Board level
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand business needs and how to manage supplier relationships
  • Experienced in the end-to-end procurement cycle
  • Data analysis and cost modelling
  • Good knowledge of English contract law and experience of negotiating, drafting and resolving contract terms using templates/banks of standard clauses
