DBS Requirements

Some assignments are within regulated environments, including schools, nurseries and care settings. Therefore, applicants may need a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate covering Child Workforce, Adult Workforce, or both.

Your DBS must either:

Be registered on the DBS Update Service, or
Have been issued within the previous 12 months

If you do not currently hold a valid DBS, Blue Arrow can assist with the application process. Please note that a fee applies for new DBS checks.

Key Duties

As a Catering Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

Supporting food preparation and basic kitchen tasks
Serving meals, snacks and beverages
Ensuring kitchen and dining areas remain clean and presentable
Adhering to food safety, allergen awareness and health & safety regulations
Assisting chefs and kitchen teams during busy service periods
Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils and workstations
Assisting with stock management and rotation
Maintaining high hygiene standards at all times

Candidate Requirements

We're keen to hear from individuals who have:

Previous experience within catering, hospitality, food service or kitchen environments
Understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices
A Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred but not essential)
A positive, adaptable and proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong reliability and punctuality
The ability to work effectively in a busy environment
Access to transport, which would be beneficial when travelling between assignments
