Shifts will be predominately 05:00 starts however late shifts and weekends may also be required

40 Hours per week

£20827.80 Per Annum

 

 

HMP & YOI Doncaster is a Category B prison and it predominantly serves the courts of South Yorkshire and currently holds up to 1,145 male prisoners over the age of 18.We are located in the centre of Doncaster Town Centre within walking distance of the railway station and bus station.

 

We are currently recruiting for a Cleaner to work 40 hours per week on a rota across a 7 day week with an earliest start of 5am and the latest time of 9pm.

 

Some of your key responsibilities for the role involves:

 

  • Ensuring the maintenance, appearance and cleanliness of all areas within the prison to a high standard. This will involve vacuuming, mopping, emptying the waste paper baskets, cleaning of sinks and toilets whilst using all chemicals and cleaning materials correctly.
  • You will assist in Implementing and Operating a Recycling Procedure within the Cleaning Department whilst ensuring that Prison and company policies and procedures are followed.

 

What you need to do the job:

 

Ideally you will be experienced in cleaning procedures, health and safety and COSSH regulations. It would also be beneficial for you to have an NVQ level 2 in cleaning.

 

You will be a confident communicator, self- motivated and be able to work independently without supervision.

 

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.

 

Must be willing and flexible in covering shortfalls (Night Work and Weekend Work may be involved in this position).

 

The successful post holder must be willing to be trained in cleaning of BIOHAZARD Materials.
