Derwentside IRC is a fully contained residential centre housing adult women. We focus on decency and respect in all aspects of care for our residents and use continuous innovation to further improve and develop our service.
The primary function of this role is to provide cleaning services to Derwentside IRC which includes office areas, residential areas, and outdoor areas.
You will be responsible for cleaning all areas within the Derwentside IRC estate using a variety of cleaning equipment and materials and to report any cleaning appliance faults promptly. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures and regulations - COSHH- are adhered to and be competent in the use of all chemicals and cleaning materials provided.
At the heart of our work is the emotional and practical support we offer to residents in our Centre. We have positive relationships with colleagues in a broad range of statutory and voluntary organisations both in County Durham and nationally, and work with them to deliver services which mirror those in the community in areas such as health and wellbeing.
Shift pattern: 40 hours per week between the hours of 7:30am and 4:40pm. You'll also be expected to work every second weekend.
What you will need to do the role
You will be self-motivated, have experience of cleaning households / accommodation, experience in managing time effectively and a willingness to work overtime in line with business needs.
