Here at Serco we are looking for a Supervised Contact Worker to join the team at Hertfordshire County Council.  You will supervise contact in order to ensure that children in need of protection are enabled to maintain planned access to their parents within a

safe context.

 

You will supervise contact, within a range of suitable locally accessible venues across the area, including during out-of-hours when required, observe and contribute to assessments.

 

Full and part time roles available (part time hours can be flexible)

 

Additional Information

We have a duty to safeguard children and young people and a responsibility to ensure the safety of staff. As part of the recruitment process you will be required to carry out a Personal Interview. What you will need

You will be working directly with children and families, and will have experience of working in a similar environment e.g. Family Centre, Nursery, Youth Club. You must be observant and intuitive with the ability to assess situations and act accordingly to ensure the welfare of the children at all times. You will be resilient, calm under pressure and able to work using your own initiative as well as being part of a team, have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain confidentiality between all parties. You will have sound computer skills and will be fully competent using all computer packages to organise and record information clearly and accurately. You will regularly participate in meetings e.g. team meetings and will be confident presenting information. You may be required to attend Court and represent the Department as appropriate. It is an essential requirement that you have access to a vehicle at all times as you may be required to drive to other area at short notice to perform your duties.

 

 

DBS

This post is classed as having a high degree of contact with children or vulnerable adults and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure will be sought through the DBS as part of Serco's pre-employment checks.
