Serco works in a strategic partnership with Peterborough City Council (PCC) in the UK, to transform the quality of local services for citizens. PCC delivers a diverse range of services for Peterborough residents across numerous service areas. PCC are continually improving their services to the public resulting in a number of changes which you as a Customer Service Assistant will be able to contribute to and support.


As a Customer Service Assistant, you will provide an efficient, effective and customer focussed first point of contact for customers telephoning and emailing Customer Services, providing a knowledgeable and professional service covering a range of council services. 


You will manage customer contacts in an efficient, caring manner and ensure that excellent customer service is delivered.


After full training we offer agile/home working.



What you'll need to do the role


You will be able to communicate effectively by telephone and in writing, work constructively with others and on own initiative where required. Ideally you will have experience in dealing with challenging customers and have a high understanding of customer care.


Ideally you will have 1 years' experience in a customer service environment or call centre.
