Full-time, Mon-Fri 37 Hours

 

At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997.  Serco proudly support the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, supporting Airfield Operations, Logistics and Engineering services.  RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Airforce, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet.

 

Serco are currently recruiting a Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions Unit Administrator to join the existing team at Brize Norton. The purpsoe of this role is to work alongside Royal Air Force colleagues. The workflows and processes embedded in the JAMES system enable the MoD and RAF Brize Norton Vehicles and Equipment servicing and repair to be effectively scheduled and recorded to ensure that all of the MoD Vehicles and Equipment remain compliant with all legislative and regulatory requirements imposed by safety or environmental considerations. JAMES provides the high-quality, assured information required by the UK National Audit Office (NAO) in its audits of MOD assets and how they are managed.

 

 

Main Accountabilities:

 

  • Ensuring that the transfer of Serco JAMES users in and out of RAF Brize Norton is managed effectively on JAMES.
  • Serco users are assigned the correct roles and authorities
  • Ensuring that personnel have completed the required JAMES Training
  • Maintaining a record of JAMES training within the Serco organisation.
  • Conducting monthly JAMES data quality checks.
  • Participate in the RAF Brize Norton JAMES User Groups
  • Focal point for Serco JAMES Audits

 

 

 

What you'll need to do the role:

 

 

  • Competent, effective and efficient use of Windows OS Platforms and Microsoft Office associated software. Including Office 365 applications including SharePoint.
  • Two years previous knowledge and experience in IT infrastructure required; or equivalent  qualification. 
  • Good understanding of technology and technical issues; and equipment maintenance principles. 
  • Attention to detail. Logical analytical thinker.
  • Good problem solver and able to tackle complex issues.  
  • Effective communicator both verbally and in written form. 
  • Customer focussed.
  • Must be able to build and sustain positive Customer /Stakeholder relationships.
  • Maintain composure when under pressure.
