Data Futures Project Manager


We are looking for a project manager to lead a time-limited project to prepare the University for making HESA Data Futures statutory returns for the first time. The project will identify where changes to processes are needed to capture the data required, and contribute to the development of a Data Governance Framework.

The Data Futures Project Manager will play a key role leading this project at Canterbury Christ Church University. They will be a member of the Planning team. The Team's responsibilities include external and internal reporting of student data, and the provision of student-related management information and business intelligence.

The team is part of the Planning and Academic Administration Directorate which provides efficient and effective admissions, planning and academic administrative services that are aligned to the University's strategic aims, underpinned by a strong customer focus and delivered across all our campuses and partnerships.

The Role

The post-holder will manage the project from inception to completion. They will:

* Project manage the HESA Data Futures project to interpret the Data Futures specification and make the first Data Futures returns to HESA.

* Ensure the analysis, coding, quality assurance and governance associated with HESA Data Futures submissions takes place.

* Initiate and lead change in the specification, collection or processing of data elements as required to ensure that CCCU can return the required data to an appropriate quality standard.

* Contribute to the development of a Data Governance Framework.

The Person

You will have experience of project management, including the interpretation of complex technical specifications. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to produce clear reports for non-technical users. The post-holder will have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise multiple projects with competing deadlines.

This post is fixed term until 30 November 2020.
