Are you an experienced School Receptionist or School Administrator looking for flexible temporary work within educational settings?

Blue Arrow is actively recruiting experienced school support professionals to join our Education Talent Pool. We work with a variety of schools, academies, colleges, and educational providers across Nottingham that regularly require temporary staff to support with staff absences, peak periods, admissions, examinations, and ongoing administrative requirements.

Previous School Experience Essential

To be considered for these opportunities, candidates should have recent experience working within a school, academy, college, or educational environment in either a reception or administrative capacity.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience with:

• School reception duties
• Front-of-house responsibilities within educational settings
• School office administration
• Attendance administration
• Admissions support
• Pupil records management
• Education management systems
• Student services administration

Candidates with proven school-based administration or reception experience will be highly regarded, as many assignments require individuals who can quickly integrate into busy school offices with minimal training.

Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) Required

Due to the nature of our education sector assignments, applicants must hold a current and valid Enhanced DBS Certificate covering the Child Workforce.

Priority consideration will be given to candidates who already possess:

• A current Enhanced DBS Check
• Child Workforce clearance
• DBS documentation that is in date and readily available

As many vacancies require immediate starts, having a valid Enhanced DBS in place is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the assignment, duties may include:

• Meeting and welcoming pupils, parents, visitors, and staff
• Managing the school's main reception area
• Answering and directing telephone enquiries professionally
• Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence
• Maintaining pupil and staff records
• Updating school databases and management information systems
• Supporting attendance and admissions processes
• Scheduling appointments and managing diaries
• Processing confidential information in accordance with GDPR requirements
• Providing administrative support to senior leadership teams and school departments
• Delivering excellent customer service to parents, staff, and students

About You

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• Previous school reception or school administration experience
• Experience working within a fast-paced educational environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional and approachable manner
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• The ability to manage confidential information appropriately
• A proactive and flexible approach to work
• A current Enhanced DBS Certificate covering Child Workforce
