What you'll do day to day:

Firstly, you'll be responsible for the production of the PECS Plan, which means you'll ensure that the schedule for the movement of custodies is planned and ready to be executed for the following morning.  Combining data sources such as court & prison locations, crew routes & trackers, crew resources etc and further working with crews and establishments you'll produce robust schedules to ensure the safe, secure and timely movement of custodies to their destination whilst achieving contractual performance and compliance targets. This will involve stakeholder engagement and liaison with PECS, HMPPS, HMCTS and police.

It doesn't always run smoothly though, so you'll need to be quick on your feet to adapt to any unpredictable changes and deal with any incidents or challenges that occur throughout the day!

Alongside this, you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational Control team as well as undertaking people management responsibilities for your team.

What you need to do the role:

If you are detail oriented, highly organised, resilient with exceptional communication skills, then we want to hear from you!  Ideally, you'll have previous experience in a similar role, when you have been involved in organising large scale logistics / scheduling plans in a large geographical area! You'll be computer literate with the ability to quickly assimilate large volumes of data/information.

Experience is not essential as we will provide full training, however we do ask that you have some previous supervisory/managerial role, it would be beneficial.

What else do you need to know?

  • This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.
  • You will be required to obtain Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 Vetting & Enhanced DBS with Child Barring.
