£26,384 per annum, plus London weighting £3420

 

Prisoner Escort Custody Services (PECS), Serco operates across 105 courts and 16 vehicle bases throughout London, East & West England. On average we transport over 21,000 custodies per month and at the core of our service is our Operational Control Centre Team (OCC) working to ensure custodies are transported on time, on schedule and in a safe & secure way.

 

We have a vacancy for a Deputy Court Custody Manager to join our team.

 

To ensure that all security and operational policy and procedures are adhered to by all Serco staff while in any area of the court.

The key responsibility of this role is to deputise for the Court Custody Manager in their absence and provide day to day support relating to the management of a team of Prisoner Custody Officers. (PCO) The position is responsible with the CCM for the smooth running of the Court and in doing so maintain an environment that is safe, secure and decent for those in our custody / care. The role will also carry out the duties of a PCO as dictated by the rosters and at the CCM's direction.

 

Furthermore, as a minimum of one day per month the successful post holder must take charge of the Court with the CCM present to maintain knowledge and experience.

 

 

What you need to do the job

 

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate experience in managing an operational team and deploying staff. It is important that they can provide clear and effective communication via verbal and written. It is an essential that they have a good level of skills in numeracy and literacy.

 

To be considered for this role the successful post holder must be able to achieve a Clear DBS and an enhanced Level 2 check.

Additionally, they must be able to achieve a Security Clearance to SC level. They will also have to complete a Prisoner Custody Officer accreditation for this role, as well as a Control and Restraint and First Aid Qualification.
