Applications are invited for this new and exciting fixed-term post working in the College of Human Sciences, Bangor University. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to support CALIN research projects. Duties include the support of laboratory and field-based research activities with business-related focus in the area of health and wellbeing. In particular, projects will support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop Information and Communications Technology (ICT) products, services, and ways of working that promote healthy lifestyles including, for example, mental health interventions and communication skills training and to support other sectors including the life sciences and tourism industries.
The successful candidate will also contribute to activities that support and promote the CALIN operation. With a background in ICT (e.g. web design, app development, digital graphic design, animation, or e-health), computer science, or technology-enhanced pedagogy, the candidate will bring a wealth of experience of working with ICT to support local SMEs to enhance the health and wellbeing of their staff, or to help SMEs develop new products and services that require an information technology aspect. The successful candidate will be proactive in developing innovative and practical ICT solutions to briefs provided by the SMEs and CALIN Team.
The post holder needs to have strengths in technology and potential, in identifying areas of innovation, in working closely with a wide range of stakeholders and be able to work to multiple deadlines across priorities. Previous involvement with academia and industry collaborations is desirable.
The successful candidate will possess 2 AS Levels or 1 A level or NVQ level 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
