Employment Pathways Assistant
Full-Time 37 hours per week, £20,000 (Based in Kings Lynn)
Conversations are underway to extend the funding of the role and project to April 2022. Current funding is due to expire 31.12.19
This post forms part of the Building Better Opportunities/European Social Fund programme led by Great Yarmouth College across the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership area (Norfolk & Suffolk). This project aims to tackle poverty and reduce social isolation.
The Norfolk Community College Project is part of the Building Better Opportunities programme, which has received funding from the European Social Fund and Big Lottery Fund to supports long term unemployed people facing complex and multiple barriers across Norfolk.
The Employment Pathways Assistant will support the existing Skills Connectors with administrative and project support, to include remotely identifying employment, education, training and volunteering opportunities in line with client requirements within the coverage area. The coverage area can be best described as the Western side of Norfolk including the districts of South Norfolk, Breckland and West Norfolk.
The Employment Pathways Assistant will work with Skills Connectors who have the responsibility to identify, recruit and work with individuals to achieve specific employment related goals. In the carrying out of their role Skills Connectors need support with ensuring paperwork is correctly completed, filed and uploaded. In addition to this, Skills Connectors will frequently need caseload support to help identify suitable opportunities for individuals. This may include making contact with organisations and being able to build a strong rapport with key individuals over verbal or written communication techniques.
