Ecomar Propulsion is an ambitious new company developing clean propulsion systems for the marine environment.
We are looking for engineers both electrical and mechanical from a range of military backgrounds wishing to just get stuck in developing new systems and overcoming the challenges arising from transferring current engine technology to clean electrical systems.
Each day will be varied from hands on, removing diesel tanks from the donor vessel, where other days will require highly technical appraisal utilising your problem-solving skills, ensuring that a safe electrical system is installed that will be reliable for the unique demands of the marine environment. This really is a full end-to-end project including; design, development, bench testing through to complete installation in a high-profile demonstrator vessel. To achieve the project deadlines will require open and friendly teamwork where challenges are encouraged, accepted and resolved together.
You will have the chance to learn from industry and academic experts and understand what these future roles will require, as clean technology rolls out across all industries. We work with a number of UK Universities in the areas of battery and hydrogen technology. Our current team include the holder of the fastest electric boat world record and a Daily Telegraph Top 10 STEM finalist in 2020. We have also just been recognised as a global top 5 emerging companies for Maritime Emissions Reduction Solutions and, selected as a Finalist in the Maritime UK Diversity Champions 2022.
Based in Fareham, roles will initially be fixed term contracts until August 2023 with opportunities for permanent contracts thereafter.
