Enterprise Architect - Europe  
Hybrid - Attached to Hook, Solihull or a Serco Office with European Travel 
Full Time, Permanent  
Up to £95,000 per annum (dependent on experience)    


 
Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to support the development of solutions for bids and Contract Improvement Programmes (SIPs). You will do this by studying and understanding business requirements, identifying gaps (if any) between business requirements and current IT capabilities, defining technology solutions to bridge the gap and making sure that the project scope is maintained and solutions implemented in line with design.

 

In this key role you will work closely with Senior Serco business, IT representatives and IT Directors to understand their business unit needs, roadmap solutions to tackle the IT needs of the business unit and/or client and assure the technical delivery of the solutions. 

 

You must also understand not just the IT needs of the business but also the overall impact of proposed solutions to the profitability of the business, with a particular focus on the European market.

 


As part of this you'll:

 

  • Liaise with business representatives, functional leaders (e.g. the Enterprise Data Officer) and the Divisional IT Enterprise Architect team to understand requirements  
  • Coordinate with other IT professionals (e.g. IT Senior/Solution Leads, Standard Service Technical Leads) to design solution architectures for business unit operations and bids
  • Ensure compliance to solution architectural design in the implementation of projects
  • Provide architectural guidance and Leadership to the IT Senior/Solution Architects and Technical Delivery teams to ensure delivery is in line with the sector roadmap designs
  • Explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to Business Unit stakeholders and other IT professionals as required in support of solutions
  • Develop and maintain a technology and service roadmap for the security sector, working with Business Stakeholders and IT Directors to ensure this is maintained, current and meets future capability needs
  • Identify and mitigate existing business risk or risks associated with solution architecture

 

 

What you'll need to do the role: 

 

  • A thorough understanding of modern IT Infrastructure, applications and Cloud based technologies is very important
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical and logical approach to issues
  • Effective communication skills that enable you to convey complex technical details to clients in a straightforward manner
  • Must be innovative and up to date with current technologies. You must be able to identify technical issues and be able to design solutions to fix them. Most importantly, you should be flexible in making plans and program decisions
  • Proven ability to build from good relationships with clients/operational managers and colleagues
  • Ability to speak German or French is highly desirable
  • Must be SC cleared or willing to undergo SC clearance
