Contract Type:  Full Time, Permanent
Location: RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, IP27 9PP
Working Hours:  40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

  


Your primary role as a Fabric Operative will be the maintenance and upkeep of USVF family housing. You will work in a team of Fabric Operatives, being tasked with the preparation of military housing before the military families move in date.

You will be assigned your tasks daily and then deploy to undertake planned maintenance of domestic buildings.

 

Duties of this role include;

 

  • Preparing MFH for decoration by removing door furniture
  • Door, floor and ceiling repairs 
  • Maintenance checks on all fabric items 
  • Minor plumbing checks and repairs on sinks and taps 
  • Painting touch up and making good
  • Fence Repairs 
  • Liaising with other trades for MFH change of occupancy works 
  • Clear communication of the company vision and objectives ensuring the implementation of new procedures
  • Promote and drive the company values

 

What you'll need to do this role  

 

Previous experience in fabric maintenance.

Multi trade qualifications or the equivalent experience.

Experience in domestic trades.

Experience in a fast paced, high quality output role.

It is essential that you hold a clean and valid UK driving licence or can travel to remote locations without the use of public transport.

It is desirable that you have experience of operating within an MOD environment and have familiarity with geography and establishments within area of responsibility. 
  
You must be able to pass BPSS Clearance to be considered for this role.
