Financial Planning and Analysis Manager  
Hybrid - Attached to Hook with two days in the office  
Full Time, Permanent 

£60,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)    



Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to support the Head of Group FP&A in the operation and improvement of the Group's Budget and monthly forecasting processes. This includes preparing forecast and budget instructions, communicating the process effectively, monitoring progress of the forecast and budget process and working with divisions to ensure timely and accurate submissions. The role will also be involved in preparing analysis and drawing conclusions on the submitted plans for the Senior Executive.

As part of this you'll:



  • Be involved in the Group's Budget and monthly forecasting processes, ensuring the smooth operation of existing processes and leading on ongoing enhancements and continuous improvement
  • Be responsible for analysis of Budget and forecast information and the preparation of presentations for the Group's executive committee and board
  • Develop subject matter expert knowledge on Serco's planning system and working collaboratively with Serco's third-party support provider to deliver improvements
  • Work with multiple stakeholders including Business Finance teams and Centre of Excellence for FP&A to deliver the agenda of continuous improvement to the Group's forecasting
  • Support senior management through the undertaking of complex and Group-wide financial analysis
  • Challenge Budgets, forecasts and be able to explain key drivers for variances in actual performance  
  • Support other corporate functions, such as the Group Reward team, in undertaking financial analysis and modelling to support them in work with the remuneration committee


What you'll need to do the role:


  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with demonstrable post qualification experience
  • Demonstrable experience of performance analysis
  • Knowledge in preparation of management accounts, forecasts and budgets
  • Strong financial modelling skills and experience in effective utilisation of financial systems
  • Effective communication and influencing skills - both oral and written
  • Ability to work closely with senior management from both finance and non-finance backgrounds
