£33,000 Per annum, plus additional payment when working on the on-call rota

 

HMP & YOI Doncaster is a Category B prison and it predominantly serves the courts of South Yorkshire and currently holds up to 1,145 male prisoners over the age of 18. We are in the centre of Doncaster Town Centre within walking distance of the railway station and bus station. As a resettlement prison we work with our prisoners, particularly those serving less than 12-months, to ensure that they have the support they need for resettlement as well as access to the services and support available to them after release. Most of our prisoners are released back into South Yorkshire.

 

We have an opening for an FM Engineer to join our team. The purpose of this role is to carry out system reactive and preventative maintenance and additional works to all aspects of security systems, fire detection, life safety equipment and any other equipment within your capacities.

It is essential that they comply with Health & Safety legislation.

 

Some key responsibilities include:

 

  • Return necessary paperwork to Administration team or Manager as required
  • On a daily basis Advise the Line Manager on of the progress on the contract.
  • To participate and comply with material ordering and procurement procedures.
  • To assist in multi trade support of other members of the FM service team in completing work
  • The role is a key supporting function in the challenging environment of a secure establishment. The role calls for leadership and setting visible standards of personal performance and accountability and the post holder is expected to function with a degree of independence.

What you need to do the job:

 

This is an opportunity is for an individual who has ideally has experience within a similar role.

They must have good PC skills using Microsoft office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Similarly, they must be competent in the use of Databases.

The successful candidate must have proven ability to install, test, commission and service, Access Control/Door Entry Systems Conventional Intruder Alarm Systems, Conventional, Addressable Fire Alarm Systems, IP & Analogue CCTV Systems.

As a minimum electrical/electronic ONC experience or equivalent is preferred.

The individual must have proven, extensive knowledge of Fire Protection Industry and of large security systems.

Additionally, they must have knowledge of BS EN 50131 Alarm Systems, BS EN 50132 CCTV System, BS EN 50133 Access Control, BS5839 Fire Detection Systems and of BS6266 Fire Protection for Electronic Equipment Installations.
