FM Services Manager 
Full Time, Permanent (Monday- Friday, 39 hours per week)

Serco Defence provides our Logistical support of the prestigious Skynet contract which provides satellite communication services to the UK Government and Armed Forces. We have an exciting opening for a FM Services Manager to join our team to be based at any of our sites across Hampshire and Wiltshire. 

The FM Services Manager is a key management role within the Skynet contract responsible for assisting with the delivery of the FM estate and the Skynet contract. This position will develop and shape the SSCC and SDW follow on contracts. 

The FM Services Manager role provides the focal point for all Estates and Facilities Management matters within the Skynet Contract, including the Full Cost Lifecycle of the Assets (Forward Maintenance Register), delivery of Contract Variations and development of the follow-on contract solution. It requires a thorough understanding of the Skynet infrastructure and its criticality to the Skynet network. the post holder will need to demonstrate proven leadership and management skills as well as financial and commercial acumen. 

Main responsibilities of the role include:  


  • Oversight for Statutory compliance and performance measurement of the FM Department in the form of Service level agreements (SLAs)/ Statutory Compliance for FM systems and services/ Preparation of FM proposals under the CR process
  • Joint customer interface on all FM financial and commercial matter
  • Accountable for FM related subcontracts placed and their deliverables
  • Assist the Head of Skynet FM Services with Financial and Commercial control of
  • Estates and FM Dept both for overheads and Infrastructure work
  • Leadership, management, development and recruitment of the FM Department
  • personnel (Direct reports)
  • Support reviews of technical and commercial performance along with Leadership and Engagement activities across all sites
  • Accountable for the successful delivery following robust reviews of all Contract Change 
  • Request proposals and major FMR Infrastructure Projects
  • Develop compelling FM managed services commercial proposals to meet the follow-on contracts
  • Deputise for the Head of FM when required


What you'll need to do the role  


  • Innovative approach to problem solving and business improvements
  • Strong leadership and performance management techniques, providing clear vision and positive direction
  • Certified Member of IWFM or similar qualification
  • A degree, HNC or similar Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Building Service
  • Engineering
  • Qualification in Commercial and Financial discipline
  • A proven track record in leading complex FM Estates
  • Strong Management and Leadership skills
  • Programme and Project Management experience
  • Contract and Tender experience
  • Exceptional organisational skills and experience of successful service delivery
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Excellent oral and writing interpersonal skills
  • NEC 3 Contracts experience
  • Supplier Framework Agreement experience
  • Security Clearance
  • SAP experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
