40 Hours, Monday- Friday, (8:00am-4:30pm)

Full time, Permanent

£26,790 Per Annum, plus additional payments for working on the on call roster


HMP Dovegate is a category B male establishment prison based on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter.


We have an opening for a FM Services Officer to join our team here at HMP Dovegate. This roles forms part of a Works Service Team of multi skilled engineers.

One of the key responsibilities of this role is to assist other trades in their duties as may be required forming part of a multi skilled team.

A working knowledge of Plumbing/Electrics would be advantageous.

Some of the responsibilities of this role includes:


  1. Carrying out all duties assigned to him/her in a safe manner, observing all statutory regulations and local regulations.
  2. Ensuring that various pre planned maintenance schedules are kept up to date and maintained as may be required.
  3. To assist in multi trade support of other members of the FM team in completing work
  4. Carrying out related routine maintenance and repairs but within the capabilities of his/her ability, experience, and training.
  5. Operating machine tools safely and according to his training of installed equipment within the works service workshops.
  6. To maintain records of tools and report as required.
  7. Escorting contractors around the site as and when required as per written instructions.

What you will need to do the job:

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate that you have a strong background in Facilities Management. You should demonstrate great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. We are looking for someone who is a great team player but is also diligent and able to manage their own workload methodically.

It is essential that you are focused on delivering a high-quality service to clients.

You must be flexible and proactive with a commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement to working approach.

You must be able to form part of the out of hours team and be available to work on the roster dealing with Major Incidents.

You must be self-motivated and able to use your own initiative while working to tight timescales.
