About you

You are a leader that is able to manage senior managers within an assurance team to ensure both divisional and individual targets and objectives are developed, understood and achieved. You are able to manage reviews and maintenance of operational Policies and Procedures. You can manage the team on contract performance and compliance management including key performance indicators and abatements.

 

About the role

The General Manager will support contract governance reviews including Serco Management System (SMS) Gates & Group/Division audits. The General Manager will lead and manage corporate risk reviews and registers and provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice on contract interpretation, variations and disputes.

The General Manager will ensure the Operational Assurance Team are successful in the project management of operational improvement initiatives and oversee operational contingency exercises and operation readiness activities across all Immigration sites.

 

To be successful you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Project Management.

  • Post graduate qualifications as appropriate

  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build mutually beneficial relationships
    with all stakeholders, particularly with diverse teams in challenging environments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with an
    ability to interact at all levels.

  • Superior negotiation skills and the adaptability to engage and influence others.

  • Professional personal presentation.

  • Fiscal management and business savvy.

  • Team leadership and relationship building.

  • Ability to plan, organise and be decisive.

  • Innovative and uses initiative.

  • Deadline orientated with accurate and timely delivery a core necessity.

  • Attention to detail and quality.

  • Risk assessment and management.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Personal integrity and personal values consistent with Serco's principles.

  • Previous operations experience (minimum 10 years) in an immigration and/or
    corrections/justice environment or similar industry at a Senior Operations Manager or
    Director level.

  • Demonstrated Project Management skills.

  • Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team at a senior level.

  • Considerable experience within industry

  • Budget and financial management expertise.
