GIS Registration Team Manager

Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for a GIS Registration Team Manager to join our team based in Manchester! 

We have a flexible hybrid working approach, meaning the role will be a combination of office/agile home working. You would be required to attend the office a minimum of 2 days per week. 

This role within the GIS and Registration Team manages and supports the team members ensuring the creation and maintenance of GIS registration datasets, in relation to the operational estate and surplus land across the Strategic Road Network. 

The role will provide support and guidance on preparing data for the HM Land Registry accelerated registration program.

What you’ll be leading on

  • Manage the performance of the GIS and Registration team, ensuring all line management responsibilities are fulfilled, including performance management, attendance management and supporting staff in their ongoing development.
  • Produce reports, presentations, geospatial plans and other documents, collating and analysing relevant information and statistics from identified sources to support the teams and business objectives.
  • Support the Spatial Data Manager in accurately recording the company’s property assets
  • Analyse, collate and manipulate complex datasets and documents to assist in the creation and maintenance of digital datasets.
  • Work collaboratively across organisational boundaries, ensuring effective liaison, identifying opportunities for GIS growth, promoting accurate spatial data capture throughout the business.
  • Answer enquiries and those escalated by the team, and act as a point of contact internally and externally, providing information to stakeholders to support service delivery, customer service and decision making.

To be successful you’ll need

  • Degree/relevant experience in Geography and/or Geographical Information Systems and/or Geomatics related subjects
  • A very good understanding of staff performance, line manager responsibilities and experience of successfully leading people
  • An understanding of land law or knowledge of HM Land Registry processes
  • Experience of providing technical property advice to staff at all levels
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently utilise internal and external computerized mapping systems
