£19,760 PA rising to £20,163 PA after 1 year

 

Here at Serco we are looking for a Governance Administrator to join our team at HMP Lowdham Grange.  HMP Lowdham Grange is a privately operated category B prison in Nottinghamshire.  We have an adult male population of long-term sentenced prisoners.  We aim to engage the men in purposeful activity throughout their sentence with opportunities for employment, education, psychological intervention, engagement with Offender Management and a variety of healthcare services.  

 

The purpose of this role is to administer and maintain accurate records within the Governance department.

Some of the main duties for this role involves:

 

  • Carrying out all administration tasks in relation to Prisoner complaints including maintaining accurate databases, logging, and distributing as per PSI.

 

  • Being responsible for the completion of administration tasks within the mailroom, including processing, searching, and scanning all incoming and outgoing mail when required.

 

  • The successful candidate will also carry out tasks for legal and Director's correspondence, including logging, scanning, and distributing.

 

  • Assisting with administration tasks within other areas of the Governance and Secretariat department when required.

 

  • Any other duties asked by Line Management

 

 

 

What you'll need to do the role

 

This is an opportunity for an individual who has demonstratable experience within a busy admin role. They must be organised, have effective time management skills and excellent computer skills inclusive of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. The successful post holder must be able to prioritise and manage their own workload. It is essential that they are a great team player but also be able to work effectively on their own. It is vital that they have good written and oral communication skills.
