We're currently seeking a Group Financial Systems Manager to join our Group Reporting team who are responsible for consolidating and reporting the results of Serco Group global operations and providing analysis for decision makers across the business. As our Group Financial Systems Manager, you will work as a Finance Systems Business Partner to Group and Divisional finance teams, both in the UK and globally, to our IT specialist and our technical support teams, bridging the gap between finance and IT.

 

In this pivotal role, you'll ensure SAP finance systems and data are robust, leading on system transformation projects, supporting the Serco wide close process, and raising the standard of finance systems literacy across the finance function through training and education.

 

As part of this you'll:

  • Support the Senior Group Reporting Manager in the Serco wide monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate consolidation in financial statements across multiple entities, managing issues to resolution.
  • Collaborate with reporting managers and technical accountant to ensure finance systems align to IFRS reporting requirements e.g. consolidation adjustments, intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translations, etc…
  • Oversee financial reporting systems, ensuring that processes are robust and efficient.
  • Maintaining key master data to ensure reporting needs are met and with a focus on integrity of data.
  • Development of functional requirements specs based on business requirements.
  • Lead or support on finance transformation projects, systems upgrades and migrations from testing to deployment, both within the group team and across global processes such as the new ERP implementation.
  • Lead on a continuous improvement agenda to drive and deliver change to add value to Serco both day-to-day and through the future roadmap.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Finance and IT teams and our support partners to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
  • Develop End User supporting material and resources.
  • Ensure the financial consolidation process and systems adhere to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

 

What you'll need to do the role:

  • Significant experience of system support in a finance team and awareness of accounting requirements and processes.
  • Strong understanding of finance system principles (preferable SAP ECC, SAP BW and BPC) and end to end processes in a global company environment with multiple currencies.
  • Good understanding of financial accounting (IFRS).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and support others.
