As the Head of QHSE for our Justice & Immigration division, you will contribute to the leadership of the QHSE function in line with the UK&E and the business unit's vision, goals and strategies. You'll also create and implement a QHSE strategy to continuously improve performance and reduce injury and incident rates.

Your key responsibilities will be the delivery of the business unit's QHSE strategy, to support the wider UK&E strategy and performance and to continuously improve QHSE performance. In addition, the role provides QHSE leadership across the business unit to ensure successful implementation of the business plan.

What you'll need to do the job

 

 

-    You'll need to be a Chartered member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health with a relevant Degree/ Diploma/ NVQ level Occupational Health and Safety qualification or international equivalent. 
-    Significant senior leadership experience within a similar role including knowledge of coordinating independent investigations, evidence gathering, resolution and Executive reporting, along with detailed understanding of relevant current and impending Safety, Health, Environment and Security legislation and standards.
-    You'll need a proven track record of developing, and executing, a clear strategy which results in improved QHSE performance and you will lead and develop a team that provides specialist H&S support to the J&I contracts, to enable a safe and compliant operation. You will establish operational governance and deliver professional operational support to enable the delivery of professional services.
-    You will have an energised, articulate and engaging style, together with a determined and highly motivated nature. Able to proactively influence a wide range of stakeholders to engage, gain commitment, own and deliver best practice, you will work with Serco's regulatory bodies and establish controls which enable the safe and smooth operation of all service delivery developing the most appropriate, effective and efficient solutions.

-    You will be a self-aware leader yet highly resilient and be capable of challenging and being challenged
