Location: Home based, to cover sites in the South East of England.

Hours of Work: 8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday

 

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for delivering high-quality repair services? We are seeking a driven Head of Repairs to take charge of our day-to-day delivery of reactive repairs for our Accommodation contract, serving our Forces Families, managing a talented team of mobile trades, and overseeing the scheduling team across a fast-paced environment handling 8,000+ repairs per month.

As Head of Repairs, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of our repairs service, ensuring our processes are efficient, customer-focused, and compliant with the highest standards. You'll be empowered to lead, innovate, and drive continuous improvement while being part of a forward-thinking team.

 

In this role, you'll be the driving force behind our repairs programme, ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, and high-quality results. You'll lead, manage, and coordinate resources, ensuring pre- and post-repairs are completed efficiently and customer needs are met with the highest standards. From scoping out works to managing contracts and budgets, you'll take ownership of every aspect of the repairs process while delivering value for money.

 

As Head of Repairs, you will monitor the quality of work, resolve any issues, and implement lessons learned to continuously improve service delivery. You will also oversee compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM and asbestos control, ensuring all policies and processes are followed to the letter. Through building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including service families, contractors, and suppliers, you'll guarantee seamless communication and satisfaction throughout the entire repair lifecycle.

 

We need someone who can plan for the present and future, managing staffing and external resources to optimize performance, while keeping a keen eye on quality, budgets, and timelines. You'll report regularly on contract management activities, drive forward policy changes, and lead improvements to responsive repairs. Your commitment to maintaining top-tier customer service and leadership will ensure we continue to deliver the best possible outcomes.

 

This is a home based role with extensive travel around the South East of England, however, the 2 main hubs you will need to be most visible at are Aldershot and RAF Northolt. Candidates should be located within a reasonable commute of one of these sites.

 

What You'll Bring To The Role:

 

It is essential that you bring a deep knowledge of housing maintenance, construction, and service delivery, alongside proven experience in leading a direct delivery trades team and managing a scheduling team.

Your expertise in compliance, health and safety, and project management will be crucial in ensuring operational success.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail will enable you to deliver clear and concise reports, while your track record of managing contractors and ensuring contract effectiveness will set you up for success.

With excellent communication skills, you'll consistently deliver outstanding customer service.

 

Additionally, a recognized qualification in construction, contracts, or property-related fields would be highly desirable.

 

This role will require you to hold a full UK driving licence as well as the ability to pass SC Clearance.
