The Job Opportunity

Do you have what it takes to be a part of a team that provides technical, scientific and management skills to support the full range of space missions? Serco is among the leading Space Industry and Services Companies is looking for a passionate Head of Space to be based in KSA and will lead the growth of the regional space business, leading the identification and pursuit of commercial opportunities, identifying and building relationships with key space sector clients, partners, and stakeholders, growing the regional space team, and developing the regional space sector service solutions and value proposition.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop the roadmap and strategy for the Serco Middle East space business alongside the Executive Team and Senior Management.
• Conduct intercompany collaboration to develop the space sector service solutions and overall value proposition for the region, leveraging Serco's experience within UK&E with customers such as ESA, EUMETSAT, UK MOD, and UKSA.
• Lead the engagement with key space sector customers and stakeholders, actively supporting them with shaping their needs/requirements, and feeding back intel into the internal strategy.
• Support the delivery of high-quality technical and commercial proposals alongside bid and capture teams.
• Develop strategic partnerships with other space sector contractors.
• Engage with the space community through participating in presentations, working groups, industry days, panels, etc., and external promotion of the space business through participating/exhibiting in regional and international conferences, tradeshows, and other forums

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact at all levels
• Equipped with creative leadership skills in forming new bidding partnerships, and significant influencing skills to obtain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders and customers.
• Extensive contacts and credibility within the broader market
• Enthusiasm and positive commitment to drive Serco into new and established markets
• Personal integrity and personal values consistent with Serco's Value
• Sound understanding of strategy and commercial positioning

Specific requirements

• Degree in Space Engineering or Aerospace
• Experience in UK, European and/or US space service sectors
• Experience in leveraging expertise from other markets and sectors including overseas into UAE and KSA and the target sector
• Significant experience and success in business development including but not limited to the identification, qualification, positioning and capture of new business of significant size
• Experience leading and managing a diverse team including technical experts and administrative staff
• Exceptionalism in managing senior level business relationships in a highly competitive environment
