What is the purpose of the role?
We are currently seeking an engaging and hands-on Health & Safety Advisor to join our successful and innovative team. You will be responsible for providing professional and practical Safety, Health & Wellbeing advice to management, employees & contractors and will assist in the delivery our business strategy & vision; looking after projects across the business. You will be expected to lead by good example whilst ensuring compliance with our SH&W management systems, standards, processes and procedures.

What will this role involve?
Assisting with the successful interpretation, implementation and delivery of the organisational essential standards within your region, whilst constantly seeking ways of improving safety performance.
Offering competent advice and guidance to all the regional operational managers, their staff and other stakeholders which will include our contractor supply chain.
Developing and implementing local and Thames Water wide initiatives designed to improve occupational health & safety performance and bring about cultural change.
Leading and undertaking audits, undertaking site and facility inspections and undertaking accident and incident investigations.
You will be expected to identify areas of non-compliance, incident causation and root causes.
Implement plans for improvement and effectively communicate lessons that have been learned.
Producing weekly and monthly performance reports, completing investigation reports, safety bulletins and other written briefs in a concise and timely manner.
Assisting managers and their operational staff with the review of externally submitted safe systems of work and risk assessments where significant risks have been identified.
Attending safety meetings at regular intervals, you will be required to present on a regular basis.
Ensuring individuals remain competent, qualified fit and well to undertake their role.
What are we looking for?
Do you hold NEBOSH certificate or above? Are you knowledgeable in the three key elements to this role - Safety, Health and Wellbeing? If the answer is yes, apply now! We are seeking someone with a good understanding of health and safety legislation and demonstrable knowledge of occupational health and wellbeing. You will have the ability to successfully deliver local Safety, Health and Wellbeing programmes and risk management strategy. As well as having NEBOSH Certificate, you will ideally have NEBOSH diploma or a clear plan to achieve Diploma and Chartered status with IOSH. You will have relevant, multi -site work experience in technical discipline and have excellent communication skills both written and verbal; and the ability to self-manage, plan agendas and meet deadlines. General IT literacy is essential and being able to communicate with all levels of employees across the organisation. Thames Water information and salary details
This role has a flexible base location with the Thames Valley area, and will require regular travel. Therefore, you must hold a full, clean UK driving licence and own your own vehicle; in return you will receive car allowance. Participation in out of hours rota will be required, which you will receive additional payment for. We are offering a salary of up to £45,000, depending on skills and experience.
