Hub Based Engineer (Winchester)



Job Purpose


The Hub Engineer will be skilled in fault finding on all Industrial Cleaning Equipment, with the exception of the larger more specialised machinery, and will repair and refurbish machines to set, company quality standards and within defined timelines. The Hub Engineer will ensure that each repaired/refurbished machine is delivered to customer sites after full quality assurance sign-off, including extensive and successful run checks. The Hub Engineer will be skilled at identifying parts required to affect the repair and order parts through the company database system, SERVICESMARTlite (SSL) whilst ensuring that at every stage of the repair, job live updates are recorded on SSL.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all repair/refurbishment jobs are completed to set quality standards and to define criteria per machine "job family" and to time
  • Test machines in line with company guidelines before delivery to the customer to ensure quality criteria has been achieved
  • Refurbish machines to set quality standards and guidelines including spray painting, cosmetic repairs and valeting
  • Perform full fault diagnostics on machines to identify all repairs needed to bring the machine to the required standard, including the identification of all parts required
  • Ordering of parts through SSL for stock or to complete a repair
  • Booking in and out parts within SSL, adhering to current company procedure
  • Processing daily "Bucket List" to supply recycled parts to Parts Department
  • Preparing loan machines before dispatch to ensure fully operational
  • Manage key job stacks in SSL, within SLA's, updating SSL in real-time with full progression updates
  • Ensure that all machines and ancillaries are PA tested and correctly labeled before delivery to the customer
  • Follow all technician/engineer procedures, ensuring they are understood and adhered to
  • Contribute to key process improvement initiatives
  • Escalate to your line manager/the Head Office anything that takes you away from successfully fulfilling any of the items detailed in this job description

  • Educated to GCSE level or above with grade C (or equivalent) pass or above in English and Math’s
  • Electro/mechanical experience (fault finding and repair)
  • Previous experience within the industrial cleaning sector (desirable not essential)
